Hey Raptors,

Henry and I made the trip to Albuquerque, NM for the Junior Olympic Cross Country National Championships.

Henry ran a really great race. He had a difficult start, because of the way the stage the kids on the line according to region, his start was way on the outside. And, his start box had kids stacked 3 deep, whereas other regions had kids sparsely lined up 1 deep. There were over 200 kids, and I think they should have handled the start better. He finished 33rd with a time of 11:56, which is his best time in a 3K. His previous best was 12:08, so that's a nice improvement, especially since he was running at altitude (Albuquerque is over a mile high).

Not bad at all. 33rd in the USA! We're going to take a break from racing for a bit, as basketball is front and center now. We'll be back to running and training for the 2013 track season in mid January…
